The very kind and thoughtful Kelly Stewart called me up recently to invite Nolan and me to join her and Joseph to a show at the Arizona Puppet Theater. I have been waiting for Nolan to be old enough to do this, and we jumped at the chance to go! (Sadly I only had my crummy iPhone camera along, but it worked to snap a few shots of our fun morning.)
The building where the theater is housed is incredible. It's an old, Spanish-style villa that is packed with charm and character. This plaque explains some of the history behind it.
Oh, these photos are so bad. They fall way short of capturing this beautiful building.
The show was "The Pirate and the Monkey" - it was so cute! Nolan stayed interested for about half of the production but then wanted to walk around, so we headed to the gift shop / museum area for a little while. The puppets from past shows are on the display, and they are impressive!
Of all of the lovely items in the gift shop for Nolan to notice, he gravitated to this horrible monster of a puppet: A hideous $60 alligator! (don't worry -- we didn't buy it. We just carried it around and slobbered on it a tiny bit.)
Kissing the alligator. Shudder.
Thank you, Kelly and Joseph, for inviting us to spend the morning with you! What a special event!

Very cool!! Dear Nolan, please stop getting cuter and cuter otherwise my heart might explode. Sincerely, Krista
