Forgot to post these pics of our friend from a few weeks ago. She lighted on this corner of our house while Mikel and I were hanging out in the back yard, and she stayed for about 20 mins --- plenty long enough for me to grab the camera and admire her.
She's huge!
Love how they can turn their heads around like this. Amazing creatures.
She is beautiful, but is a threat to our pups (who are not allowed outside after dusk alone). When she first arrived that evening, the dogs were out with us, and whenever they would cross the yard or pop out from under a bush, she would visibly zero in on them, then bob and hoot. Yikes!
