The Wood Fam Visits the Hot Air

Have I mentioned how much we love living in a place that draws others to visit us??
***
Now living in Fargo, Harry and Angie Wood are some dear friends from our residency / Calvary EFC days.  Angie completed her dermpath residency and fellowship at Mayo a few years before Mikel's training concluded, but we are thankful that our paths have been able to cross a handful of times since then --- and extra thankful that Scottsdale hosts a dermpath conference, so more visits like this one might be anticipated!

We got to host them in our home for part of last week.  I guess it says something that they might consider our home a preferable option to the resort locale... ?!?  Crazy talk, but we were happy to have them.

Tuesday
They arrived just in time to squeeze in a splash in the kiddie pool before dinner.
97 degrees = painful for me, but just what a couple of springtime ND kids need!
Ian (5.5) & Hannah (almost 3)
Nolan (16mo) and Harry (29, right Harry??)
 Cannonball!
Winding down for the evening is more fun with a buddy

 Wednesday
I attended my MOPS meeting in the morning, and as I was loading Nolan up to leave at 8:30, the Wood fam was gearing up (read: slicking down in sunscreen) to head outside.
And they didn't come in ALL. DAY. LONG.

Hannah doesn't mind that our pool toys are literally garbage.

Whipped out my old 1980's "Think It Through" for Ian.  He's a whiz.

A hot dog and a plumber

With so much excitement, Nolan revolted against bed time.
It seems Harry and Angie are just too much fun.

Thursday
Angie had lectures for her conference allllll day Thursday, so Harry and I took the kids out and about.
Breakfast with the 2 early birds.
Joined by Ian
(Notice Hannah's original choice of what to wear for the day: girlie top and hot pink UND sweatpants.)
Once we got Hannah dressed in something that wouldn't result in a heat stroke, we set off for the train park where we enjoyed a carousel ride, a train ride and a picnic!
Well, "we" didn't ride the carousel...  Because it makes me nauseous every time.
Nolan will one day die of disappointment about this, but we're still in the clear for now.
Topped it off with some playground action.  Harry is a great triple swing pusher.

After the train park, I took the 2 little ones home to take naps.  Then we met up with Harry and Ian at the resort where Angie has her conference.  We've actually been swimming there before, and it is awesome!!  Loved the chance to go back!
Shovel?
...or spoon?

Friday
The Wood fam had plans to visit some family down in Mesa, but we got to mooch off of their resort privileges one more time that morning.
Nolan rocked it European style.

Pucker up!
Big buddies.  Even if Hannah calls Nolan "she" and "That Baby".  :)

(Harry and Ian were there too, but I guess I failed to get any pics of them!)

Saturday
The day came when we had to say "until next year".
I think Khaki was the saddest of all.

Hannah started out a little unsure of the pups, but as you can see -- that all changed.
I still couldn't get Angie to pack Khaki in one of their suitcases.

One more goodbye hug before heading for the airport.

***
Harry, Angie, Ian and Hannah -- so glad you came to "the hot air", as Ian would say.
Can't wait for next time!!
PS - Every time I call Khaki (which is a lot), I hear Hannah's voice:
"Khaaaaaaaki! - oh, Khaaaaaaaaaaaaaaki!"
