10 months

Nolan, here's the deal.
Your mom slacked again and you didn't get a 10 month photo with your bear.  But truth be told:
1) there's no shortage of photos of you..... not by a long shot.
and 2) your 9-month photo was taken too close for comfort to the 10-month mark anyway.

And if we're telling all, I'm not posting your 10 or 11-month posts on time.

I strive for excellence in other areas.  I promise.

My precious boy,
At 10 months...

- You're in size 3 diapers.
- You are getting faster at crawling and better at pulling up every day.

Even cruising!
Haven't quite mastered the little step out the back door yet.
-You dole out high-fives, and you say "mamama" and "dadada".
- The weather is slowly but surely improving (GLORY) and we are able to snag some morning walks with the pups.  You like riding in the BOB as long as the sun isn't in your eyes.  When that happens, I whip you around and pull you backwards.  With the wiener dogs pulling ahead of me and you dragging behind me, it's no wonder the neighbors aren't introducing themselves.
When we choose to walk or run in the evenings, Arizona often shows off her beautiful sunsets for us:
- You are full of expressions

This is your favorite noise lately -
And I nevvvverrrr get tired of your laugh!
-Books are a favorite thing.  You don't really want us to read them to you, but you love to sit and turn the pages.

The mall has a free, hour long music/story time on Tuesdays that you enjoy going to - for about 15 minutes.  :)  Fine with me because that's about all I can take too...

Your increasing mobility is bringing fresh adventures.  I'm finding I can't look away for long!

I once looked up and you had disappeared -- then I saw this:

- You have two teddy bears that you love.  The big brown one that you get your monthly photos taken with, and this soft Winnie the Pooh.  You hug and hug them!

Sometimes we see you using the big bear as a snuggly pillow. (Nicole, look away.)
You are a great sleeper.  You demand to be in bed by 7pm and usually sleep until at least 6:30am. You also still require 2 naps per day.
- You're getting better about your slimy food aversion.  Your favorite meal seems to be any kind of grilled meat with broccoli!

- This month brought lots of "firsts":
Your first Phoenix babysitter, Taylor, an ASU student who watches you on Thursday evenings while we go to our church small group.
Khaki and Scarlett think she comes to babysit them.
Your first lesson in drinking from a big people cup, courtesy of Krista.

First time on a park swing and first pizza sampling

First petting zoo

- Also some not-so-pleasant firsts...
First ant bites
I smooshed those ants!!
First Halloween costume, which was fun....
... until you got mad because you couldn't crawl in it!
I'm sorry, but this was funny.
Your first bad diaper rash, for which I kept you al fresco for two days until your dad saved us and called you in a prescription for some magic cream.

(Had to put the sheet down because of the ants... I did lots of laundry those two days!)

First bloody nose.  You crawled too fast for your hands to keep up, and you faceplanted on the tile...
First time you did this.......
Guess I should count my blessings we made it to 10 months without poo in the tub.  You also had your second ear infection brewing during this, so I couldn't exactly hold it against you.
Sorry, Mom!
- You and Khaki are still you and Khaki.

By now, the pups are pretty good at playing second fiddle.

Except Scarlett still wants to be the baby...
*************************
Your dad is totally in love with you.  He comes home ready to play with you every day and is a really great dad.

And I love you like crazy.  I can't believe I get to spend my days with you.

- God blessed us when he gave us you, sweet son.
- Mom and Dad
