We had an opportunity last weekend to celebrate Katie Whitchurch and her baby boy, due in July. Katie was one of the first people I met when we started attending Desert Springs Bible, and now we enjoy attending the community group that often meets at her house.
Thanks, Katie, for the ways that you helped to welcome me to a new community. I'm glad our home could be used as a place to honor you in return.

Brandi (also in our community group) arrived an hour early to the shower, thinking that was the start time. The poor girl --- we put her to work! Didn't even offer her the chance to leave and come back... ha! Thanks, Brandi, for jumping in. We were soooo happy to have the extra hands and help!
The game --- a version of Friends Trivia. (Julia, you would have won this, for sure!!)
I took several photos, trying to capture how many people were there. I didn't do a head-count, but 49 was the final "yes" RSVP total. Pretty amazing turnout! I didn't know Katie was the darling of DSBC when I offered to host! It says something about her reputation and personal ministry that so many would attend her shower.
