31 is the new 29

These are getting posted so late...  but my 31st bday was worth noting.

A new friend from MOPS, Sherri, came by my house just to drop me this divine gingerbread cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes.  Not only was delicious, but the gesture was so meaningful to me, as you can imagine.  A lot of meaning (and calories....) in that little bitty cake!

Later that morning, I put up this precious nativity scene.  It was selected and glazed by my mom's grandmother Bonnie, belonged to my mom's mother Okie and was recently given to me.  This is the first time it's been displayed in my home and is a precious heirloom that I am proud of.
Pups like it too :)

Another sight to behold is this image, sent my birthday morning.  I literally took a screenshot of this pic of Ellie to reference on a rainy day!

That morning, I got to go for a nice long hike with my favorite guys.  I love this photo!

Our new house!
.yeah right.

With the overcast skies, the wind was pretty chilly at the top of the hike and Nolan got cold in the Osprey.  Thank goodness Mikel had the good sense to bring the Ergo along.
He warmed up against me and sucked on my iPhone case all the way back to the car.

A nap and a warm up made for a much happier guy.
Thanks, Carolyn, for the awesome flannel onesie!

That night, we landed a sitter and went to dinner at the highly recommended White Chocolate Grill in Scottsdale.  It did not disappoint!
Thankful.

The following week, the ever-generous and thoughtful Kelly Stewart invited me out for lunch and introduced me to some great Mexican-Asian fusion followed by some shopping.  YUM. She even treated me to a jar of her homemade lemon-basil pesto, the last morsels of which spurred a near feud between Mikel and me for possession!

6 months into life in AZ, and days like these show me it's becoming "home" more and more all the time.  We are blessed.
