First friends

Shortly after we got to AZ, Mikel happened to see through the magic of Facebook that his cousin Brandi and her family (who live in New Mexico) were vacationing in, of all places, Scottsdale!  I think I briefly met Jake and Brandi at our wedding, but that's it.  And Mikel hadn't spent time with them in over 10 years, so this was the perfect chance to reunite.

They were vacationing in a place known for its huge variety of restaurants and fun attractions, but what were they willing to do?  Come to our house for not one but two evenings!  Lucky, lucky us.

Jake and Brandi, we so enjoyed seeing you and look forward to next time. You were our first guests - and kind of some of our first friends!  Now if only we could convince you to move here.  Khaki would die of joy.  ;)

Michael and Karly are such awesome kids.  I genuinely hope Nolan grows up to be as sweet, fun and respectful as they are.

Khaki, of course, was relentless in her pursuit of the foam ball and was thrilled that these nice people seemed to come over just to throw it for her!

I don't know who probably slept harder after all the fun - the kids or Khaki!

Brandi was having withdrawals from her little snuggly dog, so Khaki was happy to fill in... and quickly nodded off.
