Soak it up
Nolan and I have so loved getting to soak up as much friend time as possible these last weeks!
Julia is a pro mom of 2 busy boys
Karley is one of Nolan's favorite babysitter babes, and she has been a sweet, sweet friend to me.

This last Thursday morning, we had the chance to go to Ashley and Morgan's house to say hello and goodbye (sniff!). Morgan is 9 days older than Nolan, and they have been soooo cute to watch together since birth.
Morgan is a petite little thing, but she leaves Nolan in her dust developmentally. That girl is motivated to move! Check out this awesome downward dog move.
Love that red hair. :)
Just for fun: here's a pic of all of us taken December 13th -- Nolan was almost 2 weeks old, and Morgan just under a month.

After Morgan and Ashley's, we headed over to Kamber's. Julia was there, prepping to set off for good, and it was an emotional time of saying goodbye to this wonderful friend.

It always makes my heart smile to look at pictures of dear friends holding my child. It's like it shows the depth of these friendships. So thankful!

As a pick-me-up after watching Julia drive off into the sunset (that was hard!), a few of us loaded up after babes' nap time and headed downtown to Tuesdays on First. Mairtin was playing a gig there, so it was a bonus to get to see him perform!
Mikel was able to join us after work. Here he is greeting Nolan, who is always happy to see Dad!

My Side by Side group (plus dear Nicole) had a little get-together at Beth's house, which served as a lovely send-off for those of us moving to new places. Have I mentioned Beth is incredibly hospitable?? She often shares her beautiful backyard for gatherings such as these, and I love it.

In her extreme thoughfulness, McKenzie gave each of us outgoing gals this hilarious and poignant gift -- a towel reading "Uffda" and a journal she personalized for each of us. Thank you, McKenzie! Both with be proudly displayed at our new homes, I'm sure!

Urologists Have More Fun
The end of this year has brought several super fun opportunities to spend time with our friends from the urology department. We could not have asked for a better group of people to share these years with -- truly! It is a program that is not only respectful of the residents and treats them with dignity, bit it's also distinctively inclusive of spouses and families. We have made some dear relationships, for sure.

The weekend before graduation was the annual Chief Party -- a tradition in which the outgoing chief class hosts a costume party for the rest of the department. They decide the theme, decor and music, as well as secure the venue, order food, etc etc etc. It's quite a production.
This year boasted a pirate theme --- aka "Pirates of the Perineum". (yes, this is known as urology humor... aka, the rest of my life)

We also attended a Canadian Honker's baseball game while Mr. David got some quality Nolan time at our house. After living here for 5 years, we thought we should spend at least one evening supporting this local team ---- especially since the Mayo Fellows Association was offering tickets for only $5. Was a good chance to get outdoors and enjoy a little Minnesota summertime before we head off to the desert.

Mairtin is from Ireland and makes his living as a musician and storyteller. No telling what his subject is here, but looks like he successfully entertained Marcelino and Mikel!

After the game, we crashed a s'mores roast at Andrew and Marisa's house. The weather was absolutely perfect for it.
